It is normally used at temperatures when conventional polymers like starch or cellulose lose their efficiency.

It improves overall thermal mud stability as well as helps control sloughing shale and maintain cuttings integrity.

Adds excellent low-shear rate viscosity and sus- pension properties to the drilling fluid.
