Stimulation Chemicals

Although the main purpose of acidizing operations is to remove the skin on the formation, increase the permeability in order to improve the inflow performance; protecting the tubulars and preventing any damage to downhole tools should also be considered. Nelco Gulf provides the most suitable acid stimulation products based on formation, temperatures, nature and strength of acid and type of the steel used.

During acid or scale-removal treatments, various compounds may be dissolved in the treatment fluid. As the acid reacts and the pH increases, reaction products may precipitate as a gelatinous, insoluble mass. Should this occur within the formation matrix, it is almost impossible to remove and permanent permeability damage may occur. Chelating agents prevent precipitation by keeping ions in a soluble form until the treatment fluid can be flowed back from the formation during clean-up.

Formic Acid

MLC 112.85

Formic acid is a low flammable, biodegradable, and stable liquid under ambient conditions, with a boiling point of 101°C and a freezing point of 8.3°C. It is a colorless, clear, and corrosive liquid with a pungent odor. it is an efficient organic acid that is environmentally friendly and used in many different applications.

Advantage
1-
it is an organic acid  used in oil- and gas-well stimulation treatments.

Hydrochloric Acid

MLC 112.15/28

Hydrochloric acid is a strong inorganic acid used in a wide variety of applications. It is used primarily within industry as a pH regulator in water and wastewater treatment, food production, and during the manufacture of various other chemicals. Hydrochloric acid is also used to regenerate ion-exchange resins and in steel pickling (removal of rust and impurities from steel before processing or shaping). The most common public use of hydrochloric acid is as a component of cleaning products to remove lime scale (i.e. sanitary cleaners for households). .....................

Iron Stabilizer / Chelation Agents

MLC 112.95

Citric acid is a weak organic acid, thus, we can find it naturally in the citrus fruits. Manufacturers produce a high amount of citric acid per year because it has many uses; as an acidifier, as a flavouring and chelating agent.

it is effective chelating agents and can be used at temperatures up to 400oF [204oC].

This compound can exist as either the anhydrous form (free of water) or as the monohydrate form.

  • C8H8O7 (anhydrous)

  • C8H8O7·H2O (monohydrate)
